Natural materials group PDRA post

This page provides a few photos of laboratory hardware built by Richard during his first PDRA in Dr Chris Holland‘s Natural Materials Group at The University of Sheffield (circa 2017 – 2018). 

Top left is a forced reeling/spooling rig with interchangeable spools, DIY gearbox for smooth reeling over a wide speed range, and motorised lateral traverse. Top right is the assembled control electronics for this setup. Bottom left is a Peliter temperature controller (off the shelf modules assembled into a packaged setup) and bottom right is a DIY dual Peltier attachment for a research UV-VIS spectrometer (utilising the Peltier controller).
